These are the adventures of Andy and Sally Rawnsley on their narrowboat "The Puzzler". We have been living on the boat for over nine years now and are still loving it. Our Ulster born Shih Tzu, Shannon, has grown up, and has taken over the boat! After three wonderful years in Ireland, we transported The Puzzler to The Netherlands, and spent a year there. In 2015 we went southwards, to reach the north of France by June. After glorious weather throughout the summer, we arrived in Roanne in late October, and enjoyed our winter in this friendly port. We cruised extensively in France in 2016, 2017 and 2018, returning to Roanne each winter.

8th - 14th March. Bowls at The Royal British Legion. Shih Tzus at Crufts and on The Puzzler.

Throughout the winter we have been bowling at The Royal British Legion. Here Ruby is in action in our recent singles competition.

Here is the whole gang in early March. We have all been representing our club in the Fermanagh League this season, coming fifth in the final playoffs in our section.

With short mat bowls, someone has to roll up the mats at the end of the evening.

At Crufts, we were interested to see what Shannon will look like as an adult dog. This dog was the best Shih Tzu in show at Crufts.

Needless to say, this is not Shannon!

We will probably trim her hair before it grows to this length!

Shannon does not want to be left behind when we go to bowls.

It is much more fun to attack her toy dog though!

That was such hard work that now she is exhausted.

Shannon finds it quite easy to be a lapdog too.
Meanwhile, dredging is going on just upstream of The Round "O" mooring. There has been a sandbank developing here underwater for quite a while. Last year Waterways Ireland marked it with navigation marker, but this dredging is a better idea. It will now be much easier to get The Puzzler in to the inner jetty at the Round "O".

  1. Brilliant news for the start of Spring. So Tiger might meet Shannon this year? Congratulations on the Bridge too. Woof from Tiger.
